BEIJING, January 6, 2022 (TMTPOST) — Chinese smartphone brand Vivo’s subsidiary brand iQOO has rolled out its new flagship series iQOO 9 on Wednesday, which starts from 3,999 yuan.
The smartphone brand also announced that famous Chinese e-sport club EDG will be the e-sport ambassador of iQOO. EDG and iQOO will collaborate with each other on building an e-sport ecosystem.
iQOO 9 series is powered by Qualcomm’s latest signature flagship SoC Snapdragon Gen 8. It is equipped with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage that enable a smooth user experience for users.
The new flagship series supports 120W fast charging and has a 4700mAh battery. The high-end model iQOO 9 Pro supports 50W wireless charging as an additional feature. The 120W mini supercharger that comes with iQOO 9 Pro is weighed only 135g and 26% smaller than the charger for the previous pro model. The iQOO 9 series runs OriginOS Ocean based on Android 12.
The pro model iQOO 9 Pro adopts a 6.78-inch 2K E5 Full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is said that the display panel can achieve a peak brightness of 1,500 nits.
iQOO 9 Pro has a triple rear camera system that houses a 50MP Samsung GN5 camera, a 50MP 150° ultra-wide camera that supports automatic focus and a 16MP Telephoto portrait camera.
iQOO 9 Pro is available only in two colors — Orange and White with BMW stripes. Its 8GB+256GB version is priced at 4,999 yuan, while its 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB are priced at 5,499 yuan and 5,999 yuan respectively.
The base model iQOO 9 comes in three colors — Black, Orange, and a White version with BMW stripes. It is selling for 3,999 yuan, 4,399 yuan and 4,799 yuan for the 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB version respectively.
iQOO is a Chinese smartphone brand that distinguishes itself from the crowd as an e-sport smartphone brand. The company was founded in 2019 as a subsidiary of the smartphone manufacturer Vivo. It operates independently from Vivo now.
