BEIJING, March 3 (TMTPOST) — Apple announced on Thursday that it will hold its Spring launch conference at 2:00 am Beijing Time on March 9.
The event, with the tagline “Peek Performance,” will be streamed digitally on YouTube and Apple’s website.
It is reported that the third generation of iPhone SE (Special Edition) might be unveiled at the special event.
The current generation of iPhone SE was launched in 2020 and marketed as a small-sized iPhone. The model has a 4.7-inch display and runs on Apple’s own SoC A13 Bionic. It has a design similar to iPhone 8 and supports Touch ID function that allows users to unlock their phone with fingerprint scan. The current generation of iPhone SE starts from US$399 and is considered cost-effective for its powerful SoC. It remains uncertain whether the new generation of iPhone SE will adopt a new design.
Besides new iPhone SE, iPad Air 5 might also be launched at the special event on March 9.
The current generation of iPad Air was also launched in 2020. It is reported that the new iPad Air 5 will have conventional hardware upgrades with A15, 5G capacity and better rear cameras.
In addition, Apple fans might see purple iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
This is not the first time for Apple to add new colors to its iPhone series. For example, Apple launched purple iPhone 12 and iPhone mini at the Spring Launch Conference last year. Leaked images of the new purple iPhones show that Apple might launch purple version of iPhone 13 Pro.
Apple might also launch new generation of MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro at the event. It is reported that MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro will get new hardware upgrade on performance.
Apple could also release iOS 15.4, the latest version of iPhone software, with several new features such as the option to use facial recognition to unlock the device while wearing a mask.
