BEIJING, March 29 (TMTPOST) — Shenzhen has been back to normal, the city’s coronavirus pandemic control and prevention center said on Sunday.
Customer traffic restriction for dining business establishments has been lessened from 50% to 75%, according to the announcement. Areas that were quarantined in Shenzhen’s Futian District, such as Binhe Road’s south district, Qiaocheng East Road’s east district and Hongling South Road’s west district, have been back to normal.
The new announcement is effective from March 28 to April 5. According to the announcement, production and other activities have resumed back to normal in Shenzhen. Areas that are understand quarantine and restrictions will continue to follow strict pandemic control and prevention measures. Residents will need to present the 48-hour negative test result of the Covid-19 test when entering or exiting residential communities and urban villages. The notice also highlights that pandemic prevention and control measures should be taken at key areas and crowded places. Non-essential closed spaces, daycare centers and offline education centers will remain closed. Dining spaces can now take in a customer flow of their 75% capacity. Temperature, health code and travel records should be checked at restaurants. The notice also points out that strict control will be imposed on activities that involve many people. The pandemic prevention and control team also advises that residents should not leave Shenzhen unless necessary.
Shenzhen, also known as China’s Silicon Valley and innovation hub, previously went into lockdown as Covid-19 resurged in the city. Many multinational companies’ operation was affected because their plants in Shenzhen had to shut down due to the pandemic. Apple’s supplier Foxconn for example had to halt the operation of its two plants in Shenzhen to comply with pandemic control and prevention rules.
